Our client is looking for a Java / Python Backend Engineer to join their team.

Deliverables    
Complete and coherent software solutions to related Jira issues. This will include related tests and documentation.

Delivery / Milestones / Schedule Expectations    
Work will be managed by Jira tickets on a Kanban board. Work must be delivered incrementally while managing the work in flight limits.
Participation with daily morning meetings to provide status and review Kanban board and with other agile rituals.

Services to be Provided    
Design and code backend software on business-critical data- centric enterprise application with an emphasis on application software maintenance. Scale and reliability present with more interesting problem-solving opportunities.
All code will be code read and be under tests. The solutions will require tests be written alongside the code.

Java / Python Backend EngineerResponsibilities    
Design and code backend software on business-critical data- centric enterprise application with an emphasis on application software maintenance. Scale and reliability present with more interesting problem-solving opportunities.
Work closely with cross-discipline team members to identify and implement improvements in existing services, including optimizations.
Java application interacts with AMQ and datastores to index documents in Solr with python-based operational and maintenance scripts.

Java / Python Backend Engineer Qualifications
4+ years of professional development experience.
Strong Python experience required. 
Strong Java programming, including unit tests.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Multi-functional team collaboration.
Fault-tolerant design & maintenance.
Backend development - large scale data-centric applications.
Product delivery lifecycle - requirement refinement through ops.
Strong SQL.
Spring.
ActiveMQ.
Docker.
Git.
Linux, scripting & admin.

Additional Desirable Skills
Memcached or other standard queuing frameworks.
Solr.
AWS, terraform.
CI/CD.
Build tools - prefer Gradle.
Agile (Kanban).
.Net.
Spring boot.
